I shouldn't be posting anything before it's more certain, but there's some major smoke signals indicating Bertuzzi is coming to the Flames.
My analysis will be forthcoming should this prove accurate.
For now -- *puke*!
EDIT - Confirmed by TSN. My invective filled tirade is forthcoming.

well, you did list him below in "Cracks in the Dam".
anyway, i sure hope this is just pure rumour.
My only problem with this is the controversy it'll cause. Really it seems like he could be the one thing to give line #2 some life.
Nolan signed with the Wild for a fairly ridiculous amount of money. That's one more second line option gone.
Considering the circumstances, I wouldn't mind Bertuzzi, if he was able to play most of a season. His injury problems worry me, though.
Keenan is finally going to get to prove that his Luongo trade wasn't that bad. :)
Slow, takes a lot of minor penalties, on the decline. Sure he didn't play defence for the Flames last year?
Seriously, I'm not sure even a league minimum 1 year deal is worth the hassle. He's not exactly known to be a great teammate, and this would put the lie to Sutter's claims of more youth and speed up front. Does Sutter think being in Calgary will get any more out of Bertuzzi than being in Detroit or Anaheim did? Those were two pretty stable environments, and he didn't do much. He had good linemates in both places, and a management group in Anaheim that were in his corner. Leave him to the Atlantas of the league.
Everything robert cleave just said above here is 100% spot friggin' on!!! (Except for the shot at the D, but we all know who he isn't referring to.)
One year, and cheap, reading between the tea leaves in Sutter's statement about "fitting our money". If this next part comes across as tugging on Superman's cape, my apologies, but if Jarome "wanted" him, Jarome better damn sure be the guy lighting a fire under the big guy's tail when he goes into a funk. Does this mean Cammalleri slides down to play with Lombardi?
Ha ha ha!
Hope you find that elusive center that backchecks for two!
Seriously, though, at least it seems like it's a cheaper gamble than we had in Anaheim. So long as he's cheap, there is upside.
Good luck with the guy.
i just puked all over my keyboard.
this is an embarrassment.
1 year, 1.95 million, per the Herald.
At that price? I'll take him. Significantly less than what Nolan got and only a year deal. It does plug that hole in the 2nd line we were all so worried about afterall. If he can stay healthy, combining him with the speed of Lombo and Boyd should produce decent results. I'm betting the roster is pretty set now.
Yes, we all have our hesitations about this, but just remember, Bertuzzi wears pink panties.
Ignoring the whole "He shouldn't even be playing argument", I can't be the only one that's noticed that he's on the downslope of his career. Why do teams keep hoping he'll turn around?
I wasn't a fan even before the Moore deal, he's an average forward that makes a lot of questionable hits and takes a lot of penalties. I'm afraid to say I used to love the Flames, but will can't support them this year...
I like this signing. Could prove to be valuable without busting the bank. He made a mistake and if Moore didn't break his neck than this would have been forgotten long ago. Lets move on people. Welcom to Calgary Big Bert.
