So this is compltely off topic but im pretty sure if the flames dont miraculously make their way at least to the western conference finals Keenan will be fired. If that happens I cant help but hope Brent Sutter will replace him. As we all know he has expressed interest in returning to Alberta to be close to the Rebels his family etc. How much closer can he get to his famil than working for them? He has proven to be a great coach by making clemensen look like a good goalie and taking a team of ok players (ie Elias) and turning them into a contender. Brent Sutter is a no brainer.

Playfair should be fired even if they somehow win the cup. He has not gotten results from a pretty good defensive line up that is costing sooooooo much money. This will sound weird but I would replace him with MacTavish. Hear me out hear me out... Mactavish took a team of Pronger and nobodies to the cup and can be a good defensive coach when Smid is not your best defenseman. I think the Oilers are stupid for firing the coach and shoulda fired Lowe for putting such a mediocre team on ice in the first place. Mact, like the other coaches this year fired, were simply wrong place wrong tiem and took the fall for terrible GM decisions. I can only imagine what he can do with players such as Sarich, Regher, Phaneuf (can he turn it around?), and Leopold, not too mention all of the kids bound to work their way into the line up next year (aka Gio, Pardy, Pelech). Its just a thought but I like the sound of that drunken murderous fool being assistant coach and would be funny to take another person from the Oilers org. and making them better to make them look progreswsively worse.

you could almost pinpoint the exact moment last night when both teams realized that NYR has an elite goaltender and washington doesn't. i don't know if i can explain it other than a bubble bursting; ovechkin and co. were confident they'd be able to get a couple goals past king henrik but would they be able to staunch the bleeding behind theodore ?? game 1 answer: no.
